Martinsburg Police to buy body cameras

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — City council approved an application Thursday night for the Martinsburg Police Department to purchase 45 body cameras.

Reports have indicated some officers had purchased their own body cameras. The department issued cameras will be used in conjunction with the department’s dashboard cameras.

Footage from the cameras will be stored for two years.
