FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A crash landing near the Fairmont Municipal Airport left one person hospitalized Friday afternoon.

Dispatchers with Marion County 911 confirmed a small plane crashed shortly before 2 p.m. The pilot reportedly was attempting to land near the airport off of the Kingmont Road exit.

The extent of the victim’s injuries and the number of passengers in the plane was unknown.
