Construction worker dies after tragic fall Friday in Wheeling

WHEELING, W.Va. — A construction worker was killed Friday afternoon after a fall inside the Boury building in downtown Wheeling.

The man fell down an elevator shaft and died from his injuries.

Wheeling police say the construction worker, who was renovating the building, fell through an opening and struck the concrete below.

As it was a workplace accident, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration is handling the investigation.
