Bomb explodes in eastern Kanawha County; investigation underway

HANSFORD, W.Va. — Bomb technicians from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene of an explosion in eastern Kanawha County early Monday morning.

The incident happened in the 100 block of Chesapeake Street in the Hansford community.

The explosion took place near the road caused some minor damage blowing apart some small trees and debris, deputies said.

The pieces of the devices are being analyzed and an investigation continues.  So far nobody has been arrested.
