Body found along Kanawha River in South Charleston

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A body was discovered along the Kanawha River Tuesday night in South Charleston.

Kayakers out on the river noticed the body washed ashore and called 911, city police said.

The discovery was made shortly after 8 p.m. near McDonald Street and River Avenue.

Police said the body is that of an adult, but the person does not appear to be elderly. No other details were immediately available.
