Floodwaters claim life in Kanawha County

CLENDENIN, W.Va. — An elderly man died in floodwaters in Kanawha County Thursday night.

It happened at around 8:30 p.m. in the Jordan Creek Road area near Clendenin.

Emergency crews were trying to recover the man’s body but were slowed by the high water.

Significant damage was reported to several homes along Jordan Creek
