Autopsy ordered on body found near Morgantown rail trail

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — An investigation is underway after the discovery of a body in Morgantown.

Morgantown police responded to the report of a body near 4th Avenue and the rail trail beside the Monongahela River.

A medical examiner on scene determined there were no immediate signs of foul play after observing the body of the 41-year-old woman.

Investigators are notifying the woman’s family.

An autopsy will be performed to help determine the cause of death.
