Crash kills 3 Pennsylvania residents, injures 5 in West Virginia

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Three people from Pennsylvania died in a car crash Friday night in West Virginia, according to police.

Reports indicate it happened near Bridgeport when a truck crossed the median and collided with a minivan carrying church youth group members. Five others were injured.

Police said Rhoda Malone and Breanna Africa, 17, both of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and Faith Dowler, 16, of North Strabane Township, Pennsylvania were killed inside the minivan. Three others in the minivan and two people in the truck were treated for injuries at the hospital.

The church group was traveling to an outreach event in Clarksburg called Festival of Life.
