Body found in Nitro

NITRO, W.Va. — A man’s body was found in Nitro, according to the Nitro Police Department.

Police said officers responded to a call about the body around 1 p.m. Saturday. The body was found in the Kanawha River next to a private dock near 12th Street.

Investigators said the body is of a white man in his mid-40s, and external injuries were not apparent.

They also said the body had been there for a while.

The body has not yet been identified.
