Logan County man faces DUI charges after investigators find woman’s body

LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. — An investigation is underway after authorities in Logan County found a woman’s body Tuesday morning.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department said the body of Shirley Vance, 46, of Pecks Mills, was found after 5 a.m. on Boy Scout Camp Road in Garrett’s Fork.

A bulletin was released Monday night for a possible intoxicated person driving a red pickup truck.

When investigators arrived at the scene, they saw the truck and a driver attempting to perform CPR.

Vance was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paul Fleming, 64, of Garrett’s Fork, was charged with DUI causing death. According to deputies, they smelled alcohol coming from him.

He was placed in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
