Pocahontas County woman identified as victim in fatal accident

LEWISBURG, W.Va. — A Pocahontas County woman is dead after a head on collision in Greenbreir County.

Dead is Abigail Hannah, 34, of Marlinton was killed in the head-on collision on U.S. Route 219 according to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department.  The wreck happened a half-mile south of the Pocahontas-Greenbrier County border around 4:10 p.m. Monday.

Investigators identified the driver of the second vehicle as a 19 year old from Covington, Virginia.  The driver lost control of his vehicle on wet pavement in a curve according to deputies.  His car crossed the center line and crashed into Hannah’s vehicle.  The driver who lost control was not seriously injured in the accident.

Authorities did not indicate if any charges were filed in the accident.
