
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Ajdin Penava finished with 16 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and three blocks, teaming up with Jon Elmore and Rondale Watson to lift Marshall over Florida Atlantic 79-68 on Saturday night.
Elmore reached double figures for the 60th consecutive game, scoring 22 points, while Watson had 18 points and nine rebounds. On a day when all the top Conference USA teams won, the Herd (17-8, 8-4) maintained sole possession of fourth place.
Ronald Delph’s 21 points and 11 rebounds couldn’t save the Owls (10-15, 4-9) from their fourth straight loss.
The game was tied at 55-55 when Watson converted a three-point play to put Marshall ahead for good. An 11-0 run capped by Elmore’s fourth 3-pointer sealed it.
C.J. Burks added 12 points with five assists as Marshall won its third straight overall and improved to 14-1 at home.
