WVSP seeking help in Grant County homicide

PETERSBURG, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police have ruled the death of a man found in Grant County more than a year ago as a homicide.

On Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, troopers from the Moorefield-Petersburg Detachment located a human body later identified as Ivan “Vanya” Perlis in a remote part of the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled his death a homicide.

West Virginia State Police are asking anyone with any information about Perlis’ death to contact Senior Trooper B.W. Thorn at 304-538-2925.
