Woman charged with murder after Tucker County death

HAMBLETON, W.Va. — Police have charged a woman with murder following a stabbing death in Tucker County.

Emily Jo Heckler, 19, was arrested Friday afternoon following the death of a woman at a residence in the Hambleton area, authorities said.

Tucker County emergency dispatchers received a call about a domestic disturbance at around 12:30 p.m. at a residence on Mackeyville Road. They found the victim’s body when they arrived.

Heckler was booked into the Tygart Valley Regional Jail at 8:10 p.m. Friday. She is charged with first degree murder and is being held without bail.

Other details of the case, including the victim’s name, have yet to be released.
