Case involving man’s beheading advancing

PRINCETON, W.Va. — A Mercer County circuit judge ruled Friday a woman charged with murder is competent to stand trial.

Roena Cheryl Mills, 41.

WVVA-TV the decision from circuit judge Derek Swope came in the Reona Cheryl Mills case.

Mills, 41, allegedly killed Bo Allen White, 29, on April 1. White was found decapitated inside of his Lerona residence and his head found in a wooded area near the home. Mills was arrested at the scene.

Swope ruled Mills competent after receiving a report from a court-appointed forensic psychologist.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 18.
