Dead body discovered on WVU campus

MORGANTOWN — A dead body found Monday morning on WVU’s campus did not belong to a student, WVU spokesperson John Bolt said.

The body was discovered about 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Beechurst Avenue and University Avenue, according to a WVU press release.

The body, a man in his late 40s or early 50s, was found by a WVU employee who contacted university police. Officials are working to notify the man’s family, the release stated.

Chief W. P. Chedester said there were no signs of foul play or trauma and the coroner’s office is working to determine a cause of death.
