Pa. man wanted for Trump threats spotted in Cumberland, Md.

CUMBERLAND, Md. — A man wanted for making threats to shoot President Donald Trump is now believed to have most recently been in the area of Cumberland, Maryland.

The U.S. Marshal Service, Secret Service, and FBI are all on the hunt for Shawn Richard Christy, 27, of McAdoo, Pennsylvania. He’s wanted for posting threats to elected officials on social media. According to investigators he posted his threat to Facebook in June offering to kill the local district attorney as well as Trump.

“Keep it up Morganelli, I promise I’ll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald J. Trump.”

He was originally spotted in the area of Nitro, West Virginia last week driving a stolen Jeep Cherokee from the state of Kentucky. However, more recently investigators say Christy was spotted over the weekend in Cumberland. He may be tied to the theft of an orange 1997 GMC Sierra pickup truck with Pennsylvania license plates ZGL-2845.

He was spotted sleeping in a vehicle in Cumberland back on Saturday, but was able to elude investigators as they attempted to apprehend him. He’s wanted in several states for outstanding warrants for burglary, probation violation, and failure to appear for an aggravated assault case. He’s also threatened violence against any law enforcement who attempted to apprehend him.

Christy is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 160 pounds, is a white male with a light complexion, has a tattoo of a cross on his right upper arm, short dark blonde hair and a full beard. He speaks with a noticeable lisp and claims to be a survivalist.

He’s considered armed and dangerous. A reward of $20,000 has been posted for information leading to his capture. Anyone with information can call their local law enforcement.
