Wood County fatal fire 30th fire death this year in WV

DAVISVILLE, W.Va. — The state Fire Marshal’s Office said Monday the death of an 80-year-old Wood County man over the weekend is the 30th fire death in the state this year.

The man was unable to get out of his residence which is located along state Route 47 near Davisville.

“The fire has been ruled as undetermined according to SFMO investigators, but most probably accidental in nature,” the Fire Marshal’s Office said.
