Morgantown man charged in Monday night stabbing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A 22-year-old Morgantown man is facing charges of malicious wounding following a reported stabbing on Brockway Avenue Monday night.

Caleb Christian Luzier is currently awaiting arraignment after being positively identified as the attacker in the incident.

Officers of the Morgantown Police Department responded at around 10:38 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived on scene, they found a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, receiving first aid from a concerned citizen.

According to a news release, the victim was able to provide a description of suspects, who were located and detained a few minutes later on Wilson Avenue. The suspected knife used in the stabbing was recovered as well.

The victim was transported and admitted to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he is in stable condition and undergoing treatment for multiple stab wounds.

It is unclear at this time what led to the altercation. The case is still pending investigation by detectives. Anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Morgantown Police Department Detective Division.
