CHARLESTON, W.Va. — More than two dozen committee meetings are scheduled from Sunday through Tuesday at the state capitol as state lawmakers gather for monthly interim meetings a month before the start of the 60-day legislative session.

The Joint Commission on Economic Development will get an update Sunday on what’s happening in the state Development Office from executive director Michael Graney.
The Post-Audits Subcommittee has six items on its agenda for a Sunday afternoon meeting including a report on how federal grants are managed by the state Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management along with with a progress update on the RISE West Virginia long-term flood recovery program.
The state’s finances, education issues and health topics will dominate Monday’s meeting agenda. The Joint Committee on Flooding meets Tuesday.
Recently elected House Democrats have scheduled their leadership caucus during interims. The state Senate will go into session at noon Monday to consider nominations from Gov. Jim Justice.
The 60-day regular session begins Jan. 9.
