Roane County child dies of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning

ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. — A child died Monday from what authorities described as carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to the Roane County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened around 5 p.m. along Little Lefthand Road in Looneyville.

The child, a 10-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at home. Three others, a man, woman and another child, were transported to the hospital.

West Virginia State Police launched an investigation.
