3 injured in I-79 crash

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Two women and an infant were injured in a Friday morning crash on Interstate 79 in Monongalia County.

The wreck occurred at around 8 a.m. in the area of mile marker 151, which is just south of the Westover exit.

Three vehicles were involved in an accident northbound. Those injured were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The extent of their injuries was unclear but authorities said the injuries were not life-threatening.

The interstate reopened at about 11 a.m.

An accident reconstructionist was called to the scene.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
