CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Police have released a video image of a person wanted for questioning in connection with an animal cruelty case.

Charleston police are looking for this person for questioning.

Charleston police is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person who appears to be wearing a long purple coat with white/cream around the hood.

Officers began investigating the case Sunday after a dog’s body was found along Madison Street. It appeared the animal had been stabbed and strangled. They found knives and a cloth bathrobe tie at the scene.

According to investigators, the dog was small and white. It weighed about 10 pounds. It was not wearing tags or a collar.

It’s believed the dog had been dead for more than 24 hours.

Anyone with information or who can identify the image is asked to call Charleston police at 304-348-8111.
