Marion County fatal Christmas Day shooting victim identified

MONTANA MINES — The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Christmas Day during the evening hours in the Montana Mines community in Marion county.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 8 p.m.

The victim, Peggy Lee Sanders, 34, of Fairmont, later died as a result of the shooting.

No other details are being released as of this time, due to the ongoing investigation.
