Health care worker charged in abuse case

WELCH, W.Va. — State police have charged a worker at Golden Harvest Nursing Home in Welch with several counts of alleged physical abuse involving patients.

According to reports, Adam Wheeler, a Certified Nursing Assistant, was charged Friday by troopers with 8  total counts related to abuse of incapacitated adults, including charges of causing bodily injury and serious bodily injury.

Troopers began their investigation after Wheeler was suspended by the nursing home in an alleged physical abuse case. The alleged victims are between the ages of 52 and 92.

Golden Harvest Nursing Home is located within Welch Community Hospital.
