CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Monongalia County state senator Bob Beach announced on Twitter Saturday night that he’s running for Agriculture Commissioner next year.
Beach was reelected to a four year term in November to the Senate. He can remain in that position while running that campaign.
West Virginia’s current Agriculture Commissioner is Republican Kent Leonhardt, who won election in 2016. Leonhardt is also a former state Senator.
Earlier this evening I announced my decision to campaign for the Commissioner of Agriculture here in WV.
I am not stepping down I’ll still be here as your Senator for the next two years.
I hope we can continue to work together as we have on numerous issues in the past.
