Beer truck, cement truck collide in Harrison County closing part of U.S. 50

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A beer truck collided with a cement mixer late Friday morning in Harrison County shutting down the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 50.

The wreck occurred just after 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Wilsonburg Road.

The collision took off the front-end of the Miller Lite truck while the mixer skidded on its side. Authorities said there were initial reports of entrapment and injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.

Crews had to clear dozens of beer cans from the highway. Firefighters and other emergency personnel were still on the scene three hours after the crash.

Reynoldsville, Nutter Fort, and Bridgeport fire departments responded to the scene, along with Harrison County EMS, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police and West Virginia Division of Highways.
