Clendenin man facing felonies after Charleston fire truck is stolen

SISSONVILLE, W.Va. — A Clendenin man is facing felony charges following a Charleston fire truck being stolen Friday afternoon.

Charleston Police (CPD) said Billy Joe Vance, 34, was arrested following a short foot pursuit after he allegedly abandoned a stolen Charleston Fire Department (CFD) pickup truck in Sissonville.

CPD said that the truck was taken from the CFD Station 2 located on Morris Street on the East End of Charleston, as shortly before 5 p.m. the truck was spotted by a deputy with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department in Sissonville.

Vance is being charged by the CPD with two counts of felony grand larceny and being charged by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department with felony fleeing.
