Raleigh County man killed in motorcycle crash

FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — One person died in a motorcycle accident near Babcock State Park in Fayette County Tuesday.

The incident happened on Stanaford Road (State Route 41), when the motorcyclist, identified as Keith Von Scio of Beckley, reportedly ran off the road and struck a utility pole.

Von Scio was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, the victim was the only person on the motorcycle, and there were no other vehicles involved in the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
