MCDOWELL COUNTY, W.Va. — An officer-involved shooting in Welch has left one person dead.
According to the West Virginia State Police, a woman was pronounced dead on the scene shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.
Two troopers have been placed on critical incident leave pending an investigation.
WVSP said the investigation is ongoing and will release more details when they become available.
