Warren to visit West Virginia this week

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Democratic presidential candidate and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren will be in Mingo County later this week.

Warren is scheduled to appear Friday in Kermit for what her campaign describes as a “community conversation.”

The event will be at the Kermit Fire and Rescue Station at 49 Main St. beginning at 10:30 a.m. Doors will open a 10 a.m.

Warren, who in January began her second term in the U.S. Senate, is running on a platform that includes an “ultra-millionaire tax” on households with a net worth of at least $50 million, canceling student loan debts of a majority of Americans, and providing universal child care.

Warren has additionally pledged not to accept money from political action committees.
