Raleigh County authorities investigate fatal fall from cliff

ARNETT, W.Va. — The body of a man who apparently fell from a cliff in northwestern Raleigh County was recovered Thursday.

The incident reportedly happened off of State Route 3 between Masseyville Road and Rock Creek in the community of Arnett. According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, the victim fell approximately 50 feet from the cliff.

Sheriff’s deputies, Coal River Volunteer Fire Department, and Jan Care Ambulance responded to the scene.

The victim’s identity was not disclosed.
