Charles Town man sentenced 20 years for bank robbery

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — A Jefferson County man will spend 20 years in prison for a May 2018 bank robbery.

Timothy Byers Jr., of Charles Town, admitted in March to robbing the Bank of Charles Town, taking $7,048. He pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery.

U.S. Attorney Bill Powell said Byers will also have to pay $8,044 in restitution.
