Police: Woman hit by car in Barboursville dies

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. — A Huntington woman died Monday from injuries suffered after she was struck by a vehicle Sunday night in Barboursville.

According to police, Lisa Fitzwater, 43, was hit by a car on U.S. Route 60 near the Goodwill store at about 9:15 p.m. She had exited the car she was in to pick up something that had fallen off the vehicle when a car heading east struck struck her.

Fitzwater, who died at a hospital Monday morning, was wearing dark clothing, according to police.

The driver of the car that hit Fitzwater was not ticketed. The information from the investigation will be turned over to the Cabell County prosecutor’s office.

Fitzwater had four children.
