Yeager enters plea relating to March 2017 incident

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Lincoln County man accused of shooting a West Virginia State Police trooper two years ago entered a Kennedy-Frazier plea Monday.

Jeremiah Yeager entered a plea for two counts of malicious wounding for the shooting and one count of strangulation for a domestic violence incident prior to authorities arriving to his residence.

Under the plea, Yeager accepts there is enough evidence to be convicted but he does not admit guilt.

The incident in March 2017 involved Yeager choking a woman until she passed out and threatening to kill her when she woke up.

Sgt. David Fry was shot in the wrist and shoulder.

Yeager will be sentenced Aug. 28. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
