Bluefield’s Davis bound for Toledo

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — A second member of the Bluefield High School Class of 2020 has accepted a Division 1 scholarship offer. Running back and linebacker JJ Davis has verbally committed to the University of Toledo.

Davis was one of three thousand-yard rushers on the 2018 BHS team that advanced to the Class AA state championship game. He carried the ball 103 times for 1,356 yards and 13 touchdowns last fall. Davis earned second team all-state honors.

Bluefield teammate Jahiem House has also received a scholarship offer from Toledo. Last month, Bluefield lineman Sean Martin verbally committed to the University of North Carolina. Rising junior Isaiah Johnson and senior kicker Kaulin Parris are also attracting Division 1 offers.
