Nicholas deputies investigate deadly crash on Route 19

MT. LOOKOUT, W.Va. — Police in Nicholas County released information Monday afternoon about a deadly crash that took place Friday on U.S. Route 19.

According to sheriff’s deputies, Jerry Lawrence, 82, of Mt. Lookout, pulled his passenger vehicle from Mt. Lookout Road into the path of an oncoming vehicle on Route 19 at about 3:30 p.m. Friday. The initial collision sent Lawrence’s vehicle into the path of another vehicle that was exiting Route 19 onto Mt. Lookout Road.

Lawrence died from the injuries suffered in the collisions. A passenger in his vehicle, Patricia Lawrence, 81, was injured.
