Train derailment in McDowell County

VIVIAN, W.Va — Authorities were on the scene of a train derailment Saturday evening in McDowell County.

Approximately 20 cars of a Norfolk Southern train jumped the tracks near Vivian at around 6:30 p.m. Several of the cars were empty tanker cars.

Authorities said there were no injuries.

Norfolk Southern crew’s were on the scene assessing the damage.  A cleanup crew will be called in.
