CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A contractor has been chosen for 14 miles of improvement work on state Route 10, the governor’s office announced Thursday.
The $16.9 million contract with Vecellio & Grogan, Inc., of Beckley is the fifth and final phase of work planned on Route 10 that goes from Man in Logan County to Kegley in Mercer County. The new contract covers a section of highway from the Wyoming/Mercer county line to U.S. Route 19 near Kegley.
The five phases of work covers 70 miles.
Specifically, the work will include highway widening and paving along with culvert and ditch maintenance, stream stabilization and piling wall slide repair. There will also be work on four bridges and new signage. The work will start later this summer and take about a year to complete.
The work is part of Roads to Prosperity program.
