Human skeletal remains found in Fayette County

BECKWITH, W.Va. — Human remains have been found inside a home in Fayette County, and may be related to a missing person case, according to authorities.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday the discovery was made at a home in the Beckwith area, northwest of Fayetteville, after a search warrant was executed at the residence Wednesday.

According to investigators, the skeletal remains may be that of a person reported missing nearly one year ago. An official identification will not be made until an evaluation by the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office is completed.
