Former Harrison County officer pleads guilty, agrees to testify against other deputy

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A former Harrison County law enforcement officer pleaded guilty on Friday to felonies connected with manipulating information in the Harrison County Street Crimes and Drug Unit’s records.

Steven Chase Snyder, 28, of West Milford, also agreed to give testimony against others, meaning the three felonies he faces would become three misdemeanors.

Synder said he and another former deputy, Timothy Rock, falsified accounts on two occasions and conspired to do such. Rock pleaded not guilty and is facing a 28-count indictment.

As part of Snyder’s deal, he must also complete one year of probationary supervision.

Synder could testify as early as next week.
