Man leads authorities on multi-state pursuit

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A man is in custody after a pursuit Tuesday evening that went into Ohio.

According to Cabell County authorities, Matthew Taylor stole a truck in Huntington and led police into Lawrence County, Ohio. Taylor rammed several Lawrence County police cruisers.

He later came back into Huntington and was stopped after authorities laid down stop sticks.

Taylor was taken away from the scene in an ambulance.

Cabell County Sheriff Chuck Zerkle said the owner of the truck confirmed there was a gun in the truck, but investigators have been unable to find the firearm.

A Cabell County deputy said at one point of the pursuit, it appeared Taylor pointed a gun at him.
