Number of completed RISE homes goes to 104

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The number of homes completed as part of the RISE West Virginia program has increased to 104 following four final inspections since Dec. 27.

According to the West Virginia National Guard, the homes are in Kanawha, Fayette, Clay and Roane counties; the Clay County project was the replacement of a new mobile home unit while the other projects were reconstruction efforts.

The National Guard notes 75 homes are in the active construction phase through four contractors. The contractors have received 132 notices to proceed as well, meaning demolition and construction can happen.

In the RISE West Virginia program, there are 387 active cases, in which 243 involve total reconstruction.
