Cabell Midland boys surge to top of MetroNews Power Index

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Cabell Midland has taken over the top spot in the MetroNews boys basketball Power Index. The Knights (11-0) are the only unbeaten team in Class AAA. Hedgesville (11-2) has climbed up to the second spot, heading into their key contest Friday at Martinsburg. University (10-3), held the lead in the initial power index and is now third.

Shady Spring (11-0) collected another quality win last week, defeating Bluefield. The Tigers are fourth overall and the leader among Class AA schools. Morgantown (10-2), North Marion (11-0), Wheeling Park (10-2), Martinsburg (8-2), Chapmanville (10-2) and Logan (10-3) complete the top ten.

Greater Beckley Christian (10-3) completed a 4-0 week and the Crusaders are tops among Class A schools in 19th.
