West Virginia announces date, time for spring football game

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia’s annual spring football game has been scheduled for Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m.

The Mountaineers will open their second spring practices under coach Neal Brown in early March.

Quarterback will be among the position battles to watch, with Jarret Doege looking to solidify the starting job after leapfrogging Austin Kendall on the depth chart late last season. Freshman Garrett Greene, an early enrollee, will be practicing with the team for the first time.

West Virginia also has to replace both starting offensive tackles from last season, and will be looking for players to step up at running back as well.

Tickets to the game will be $10. A portion of game proceeds will go to WVU Medicine Children’s.
