Man sought in double homicide captured

PRINCETON, W.Va. — A man wanted for a double murder this week in Mercer County is in custody in Ohio.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s office says Kenneth Jacob Adkins, 19, of Lashmeet was arrested Friday without incident in the state of Ohio. He was located by the U.S. Marshal service and taken into custody.

Adkins is wanted in connection with the March 12th murders of Dalton Ramsey and Josh Williams, also of the Lashmeet area.  The shooting, according to police, happened in a parked vehicle, but the two victims ran toward a nearby home where they were found dead. Investigators believe the killings were tied to drug and gang activity.

It’s unclear where in Ohio Adkins was located. He was at the home of a family member. He’s jailed there awaiting extradition back to West Virginia.
