Man charged with murder after deadly fire

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man is being held in the South Central Regional Jail without bail after he allegedly set two fires in Charleston Saturday morning that resulted in a person’s death.

Charleston police have charged Jerry Walker, 43, of Falcon Drive, with first degree arson and first degree murder.

Police allege Walker set two fires at 2200 Falcon Drive at around 6:30 a.m. Two people were injured in the blazes and one person later died. Police have not yet released the names of the victims.
