I-68 wrong way crash claims life

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One person was killed in a wrong way vehicle crash on Interstate 68 near Morgantown Friday morning.

According to state police, a vehicle entered the eastbound Pierpont Road exit ramp and began traveling west in the eastbound lane. The vehicle sideswiped another car and continued west and struck another vehicle head-on.

Troopers said one person was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, another driver was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The names of those involved were not immediately released. Troopers also did not say if it was the wrong way driver who died.
