CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The positive coronavirus test rate for West Virginia is at 2.27 percent following 53,239 reported tests.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources released new numbers Monday morning which show 1,206 positive cases and 52,033 negative. There have been 50 COVID-19 deaths in the Mountain State.
West Virginia’s positive test rate remains significantly below surrounding states. Approximately 20 percent of tests in Pennsylvania and Maryland have come back positive. Virginia and Ohio are between 13 and 16 percent while Kentucky is just more than eight percent.
Gov. Jim Justice is expected to announce Monday afternoon which businesses will be reopening next Monday as part of a his six-week reopening plan.
