CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported three additional COVID-19 deaths in its Monday evening report.
According to the agency, it’s received word of the deaths of a 70-year-old woman from Jackson County, an 89-year-old Kanawha County man and a 56-year-old woman from Nicholas County.
“It’s with great sadness that we announce three more deaths as a result of COVID-19,” DHHR Secretary Bill Crouch said.
There have now been 57 COVID-19 deaths in West Virginia.
The state said there have been 64,165 tests completed, with 1,369 positive and 62,796 negative. The positive test rate is at 2.13 percent.
The DHHR said there are 519 active cases. Of those, 50 people are hospitalized with nine in ICU. Five of the nine are being treated on ventilators.
There are 803 recovered cases in the state.
